We are Speedeals.com, a capital efficient Internet startup with a business model designed for today’s economy. We are finishing up our site which will be launching next month. Actually, we have started our marketing campaign to sign up merchants. The technical stuff is done but we got a lot of work on the marketing side and our tiny marketing team cannot handle it alone. We need a high energy, multi-hat wearing, hands-on Director of PR/Communications to drive awareness to the site. You would be a founding member of this organization.
We also just launched a new service that is helping us sign up businesses in NY, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Diego on top of our home markets of SF, SJ, Salt Lake, and DC.
Speedeals is a pre-funded startup, therefore the compensation for this position will be equity-only to start.
Research, evaluate, and prioritize PR opportunities
Develop, refine, and improve PR-related messages and communications
Build and maintain media contacts within both traditional and non-tradition media
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to participate in local area events
Support and contribute to various online and offline marketing programs
Manage and coordinate Speedeals participation in local area events
Explore, research, and recommend opportunities to build community awareness through both online and offline activities
Coordinate with Biz Dev and Marketing teams to develop and execute integrated campaigns
Support other marketing initiatives across the organization as needed
Create and manage PR & Events Calendar
Produce and publish weekly articles for website and social media pages
Design and develop News & Events section of speedeals.com
Develop corporate branding standards and manage creative assets (logos, style guides, etc...)
Revise and refine PR materials (factsheet, press releases, etc...)
Manage and direct PR & Event interns
Recruit and manage design interns/contractors
