The director of product strategy will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and definition of Workday's revolutionary financial management applications within our best-in-class SaaS business management solution. Working closely with product management and core technology counterparts, this individual will be responsible for identifying the roadmap, and championing the product requirements from conception through delivery. This individual will also serve as a conduit to marketing, sales, and the broader Workday ecosystem.

Define and communicate the strategic direction for Workday's Financial Management applications to the marketplace and internal stakeholders, including senior executives.
Identify product requirements though extensive market review and formal requirements elicitation methods, including customer workgroups, design partners, and executive advisory councils.
Craft market requirements documentation for strategic features and product requirements.
Educate product management, development, and core technology design teams on strategic product requirements.
Collaborate with product management to shape the product roadmap in accordance with the strategic direction.
Communicate changes to the product roadmap to internal stakeholders and impacted customers.
Identify, evaluate, and plan integration efforts with third party vendors to deliver a complete solution for customers.
Build business cases for new product investments.
Present new functionality to customers and partners as part of the update process.
Work with product marketing to identify and craft appropriate product positioning approach.
Support sales and customer success as needed including formal presentations to prospects and customers.
Support sales by helping qualify prospective customers for solution fit.
Attend and participate in industry related events and trade shows to maintain visibility and market awareness.
7 - 10 years of broad experience in financial management application disciplines, including accounting, ERP, procurement, budgeting and planning, and compliance.
5+ years directing and controlling the activities of a broad functional area such as applications strategy, product management, or product marketing in a fast-paced enterprise software company.

Education / Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required, MBA preferred.
