PR.com, one of the top press release distribution services, seeks a self-motivated, competitive and proven editor/business development individual to:
a) Proofread and process press releases for distribution online and to the media.
b) Develop and manage relationships with websites, databases and content aggregators to increase PR.com’s news release content distribution.
c) Collaborate with our team on developing and executing innovative social media strategies.
Superior writing, editing, researching, communication and proofreading skills
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English or related field or equivalent experience writing or editing for a news, publishing or public relations organization a plus, but not required
Experience writing press releases quickly and accurately, and editing press releases or news stories for spelling, grammar, clarity, accuracy, style, objectivity, news value, libelous content, etc. a plus, but not required
Passionate and knowledgeable about social media
Understands and currently participates in the social media universe including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogs, etc.
Strong self-motivation with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, working independently or as part of a team
Technical skills and computer literacy; proficiency in standard business applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web, etc.)
Willing and happy to work as hard as it takes to meet and exceed goals
Experience working with customers in a consulting or customer service capacity a plus, but not required
Marketing or search engine optimization knowledge a plus, but not required
