Education–Focused Startup Seeking Unpaid Interns

Overview is a pre–funding startup building a marketplace for continuing professional education. Founded by experienced entrepreneurs from the education, software, and marketing worlds, we are headed for a beta launch this fall. We are seeking driven interns to support our data-gathering and analytics, marketing, and business development efforts while working closely with the CEO to learn the startup ethos at our General Assembly office.
A typical week's work might include:
writing ad copy;
interviewing lawyers, doctors, and architects about their work habits;
creating plans to solve seemingly impossible tasks;
executing those plans;
attending networking events;
doing software QA;
managing overseas resources;
helping negotiate business deals;
learning to program.
You must:
Be available at least 15 hours each week.
Be approved to receive school credit for your work with us.
Have your own laptop with WiFi.
Be proficient in Excel.
Be an energetic problem-solver with a competitive streak.
Obsess over details.
Be comfortable talking with strangers.
Be able to be the CEO of your job.
You'll be happy here if you:
Think big thoughts;
Care about small things;
Have a sense of humor;
Know how to properly use commas and apostrophes, and
Can work indpendently as a crucial part of a team.
Huge pluses if:
You're deft at Photoshop.
You can code, or are learning to.
You've worked in a startup before but it failed to meet your high standards.
Current high school, college, or grad students only.
School credit only.
This is an unpaid internship.
