Movable Ink, the leader in Agile Email Marketing, is looking for a lead Experience Designer to join a growing product development team. This role will be focused on streamlining the product design and user interface of our product platform, and will have a sharp focus on and passion for designing usable, engaging, innovative, and elegant user experiences. The Product Design Lead is all at once UI designer and researcher, functioning as point person on a wide range of user-centered design initiatives from user research to rapid front-end prototyping to support our ongoing Agile development cycles.
This is a highly collaborative role that will report to our VP of Product and will be instrumental to bridging requirements across our development, sales, support, professional services and marketing teams to streamline and optimize the design of the product. Ideally, this role is for someone who is well-versed in the art of Agile UX, doing detailed UI design and translating that into initial front-end prototypes. If you can do hardened, production-ready front-end code; all the better, but the focus here is on iterative interaction design.
Experience - 4-6+ years in project-based user experience design activities. Some understanding of, and experience with, the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) market is a plus.
Interface Design chops - Need someone who can ideally take UI/UX concepts to the "end zone" and own the full translation of functional requirements into "designed" interfaces that are market ready, including coming up with an application-wide design style for core elements of the user interface.
Agility - A professional UI practitioner who can think on their feet in a fast paced, entrepreneurial business who is familiar with practicing UX in an Agile development environment.
Iterative process - Working knowledge and ability to quickly adopt relevant rapid prototyping tools such as Axure, Visio, Illustrator, etc. (Axure preferred)
Enterprise software knowledge - Some familiarity with enterprise-wide systems including content management systems, CRM, Email and ad/marketing technologies. A strong functional understanding is required, and a deeper technical expertise is a plus.
Strong communication skills - Strong communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate design solutions and research findings in a compelling, non-technical way.
Excellent understanding of business requirements - Keen business acumen and ability to translate business and product needs into user experience solutions that meet the complex needs of major corporations.
Education – A background in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or a related field is an added bonus.
