Overview
The Senior Architect will provide overall direction, guidance and definition in the development of an exciting new web-based Medical Application. This is a unique ground-floor opportunity in a stable startup environment with strong growth potential. We are currently funded and actively seeking additional investors.
Responsibilities
As part of a small startup team, you’ll be solely responsible for both defining architecture direction and designing a next-generation medical application
Assist with scope and requirements definition
Provide high-level estimates for development timelines based on design
Experience
Five+ years of experience developing and architecting back-end solutions for rich web applications.
Experience architecting net-new applications
Experience leading and mentoring team members
Mobile Application Development or exposure a strong plus (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7)
Experience in a startup environment required
Entrepreneurial mindset and experience
Requirements/BA/PM experience a plus
Medical Information Systems knowledge or medical applications development experience required
Skills
Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Java/J2EE technologies and associated application servers OR Microsoft .NET architectures and associated application servers
XML APIs and techniques – SOAP/REST, AJAX, etc
Database engines, query development and tuning –MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, etc.
Excellent object-oriented analysis and design skills, including OO design patterns and UML diagrams.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree Required, MS preferred
Compensation
Compensation is negotiable. This will be a part-time contract 1099-based position with the possibility of full-time employment.
