Overview of Role
This position is a unique opportunity to participate in a pre-IPO business and is ideal for an individual who wants to get involved in a hands-on finance role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on the financial reporting of the business. This role offers significant growth and development opportunities, with exposure to a broad range of business operations. This position will be based in San Francisco and will work closely with the local team as well as the corporate accounting and finance team in London.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, reviewing and challenging the financial performance of the business. The Financial Analyst will support the corporate finance as well as manage all statutory and regulatory requirements. There will be meaningful room to take on additional responsibilities. Specifically, the Financial Analyst will be working with the Director of Finance to:
Prepare and maintain the timely and accurate monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis
Develop, prepare and manage financial forecasting models and tools to support our financial planning and forecasting processes
Oversee accounting operations and procedures, including payroll and other HR related processes as needed
Partner with Accounting to deploy effective metrics and dashboards to foster constant improvement and progress towards best practices
Analyze key operational performance metrics to understand drivers of revenue, expense and operational risks
Ensure compliance to all financial and statutory reporting requirements
Resolve complex accounting, finance and business operation issues
And other duties as assigned.
Two to three years of experience, ideally from an analytically intensive role (e.g., Big 4 accounting firm, FP&A, corporate finance and accounting)
Posses a passion and desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with a positive attitude, high level of intensity, integrity and dedication
Demonstrated analytical proficiency; ability to build complex Excel models and draw insights based on independent analysis of financial and operational data
Proficient understanding of the principles of finance and accounting
Comfortable with large amounts of information, adept at managing expectations, possess a strong attention to detail and able to set and adjust priorities as needed
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics or equivalent – CPA or similar qualification a plus
