Food Marketing (NYC) Internship (for credit)

Goose Valley Natural Foods™ is seeking motivated interns to work alongside our co-founder to learn practical applications of foodservice sales and marketing strategy through new product development, research, and outreach.

Terms: Goose Valley Natural Foods™ has immediate openings for-credit internships in its marketing and sales departments. Internships require professionalism, multi-tasking, research skills, and proficiency. These unpaid internships require a minimum of 5-10 hours per week over 3 months in the Murray Hill neighborhood of NYC, a four minute walk from Grand Central Station. College credit can be arranged.

Assist co-founder in promoting the mission, products, and services of Goose Valley Natural Foods™. This position will be excellent training for highly motivated college students or recent graduates seeking careers in food marketing, sales, and product development. Goose Valley has high expectations for its interns and offers invaluable hands-on experience in return. Applicants should be excited about what we do, detail-oriented, and a pleasure to work with.
We are currently looking for an intern to begin as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for an organized, motivated individual to learn the ropes of the specialty food business. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a positive attitude, is someone who can handle a lot of responsibility, has basic skills, and a genuine passion for food. This is an unpaid internship, though we can offer school credit, a weekly supply of rice, and a stipend for the commute.
Interest in the objectives of the organization (
Capability to work both directly with co-founder and alone with minimal supervision
Resourceful, innovative, and productive
Ability to thrive under pressure, multi-task, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
A strong interest in food nutrition and the specialty food business
Database maintenance using the program
Account manager support for new and old client accounts
Responds to customer/client inquiries via email and telephone
Participates in specialty food marketing research strategy and support
Conducts target marketing research; compiles, analyzes, and reports data and findings
Assists with development and shipment of marketing materials
Assists with media outreach, creates mailing lists, and assembles press kits
Assists in development of sales and marketing proposals
Assists direct sales appointments with prospective clients as necessary
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Clear, professional communication skills (written, oral & interpersonal)
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint )
Familiarity with Social Media networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics)
Strong writers with people skills are strongly encouraged to apply
