Beauty & The Bull Magazine is looking for an Editor-in-Chief to commit to help growing a rapidly growing financial media network for women, launched July 2012 and an online site re-launched January 2014. The Editor in Chief will oversee Beauty & The Bull digital magazine, establishing a vision for a more compelling digital and print product, and working closely with all related online products and platforms. He or she will help grow the brand with greater use of content as well as fresh content delivery and packaging solutions that increase consumer engagement and loyalty. The potential reach of this brand is so vast that the opportunities for increased subscriptions and loyalty are enormous, and the time is right to capitalize on it as consumers demand competitive and credible information on every type of product and service
He or she will also evolve the role as a founding member and must be able to foster continued innovation and creativity. Working closely with the Founder & CEO, Contributor Network, and Advisors, the Editor in Chief will develop strategies to infuse innovation and engagement strategies into the monthly magazine.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
Exceptional leader with extensive experience in magazine publishing.
Track record of success in delivery of print and/or digital content in new and innovative ways.
Candidate should be strong editor, able to translate their vision into desirable and profitable print and online publications
Understanding of journalistic principles and guidelines.

Help manage the inbound flow of content and assets once agreements are finalized within our contributor network; Oversee timely delivery of content from various providers; Quality control all the incoming content; Curate images on website; Curate image clips for mobile and device platform
Implement editorial calendar; Plan and develop content for all editorial sections
Develop long-term goals and vision for editorial direction, packaging and design for Consumer Reports Magazine and communicate vision to senior management and staff.
Plan issue-by-issue content, mixing effective cover topics and product buying guidance with entertaining, useful news stories, short features and departments.
Supervise and motivate contributor network. Shape other content offered by our contributor network to generate story ideas and fit the needs of the digital magazine and online content.
Work with publisher in creating strategy, schedules and budgets and as the liaison to the sales department.
Establish industry presence and represent the organization as expert commentator, leader of industry events and as liaison with top industry leader.
Help the magazine meet or exceed specific goals set during the annual budget planning cycle, especially those related to newsstand sales and renewal rate targets.
Work with the design team to continually improve the look and feel of the magazine.
Generate winning cover ideas, leading the cover team in preparation of ideas for survey to test in advance of publication. Work with designers to find the right visuals for the cover that will maintain or increase newsstand sales.
Devise ways to use data to provide more meaningful and more visually engaging content and support of planning content; analyze and report on the monthly readership studies that show how the content of the magazine was received.
Serve as a spokesperson for the magazine in public appearances, including broadcast, Web and in-person events.
