Founding team engineer

ValoBox is a pay-as-you-go HTML5 ereader which supports the creators and promoters of great content.

Our team consists of the founding team from @cn_oli, @anna_cn as well as the html5 skills of @orangemug. We’re working with major publishers in the UK & US to create an accessible, distributed and open standard platform for premium content.

We're looking for incredibly talented and passionate people who want to improve the web ecosystem.

We're pre-launch, lean and agile. There's still plenty of equity up for grabs if you've got the skills. We've also got a little seed funding so can support a modest wage.

Building cool noSQL backends
Building cool micro-purchase systems
Building cool HTML5 web/mobile applications
Some experience in a start up is a big plus
2-3yrs programming including 1 years ruby experience is preferred
Energy and passion for web
A cunning and analytical mind
A good eye for design
You'll need a good understanding of web architecture, security and a background in developing web systems
2-3 years programming including 1+ years experience with ruby is preferred
Experience with noSQL such as CouchDB, MongoDB or Cassandra is helpful
Mobile development with HTML5 and phonegap is helpful
A passion for BDD - rspec and cucumber
A BEng in engineering or computer science from a good university helps but we what is important is aptitude and skill.
