Crowdtilt is looking for a kick-ass and well rounded front end developer to help make our product the best it can be. You will work along side our talented front end team to build out new features, with vast room for experimentation and growth. We trust all of our developers implicitly to "get stuff done" (paraphrasing) and want to find like minded individuals. You are willing to take on full responsibility for our front end architecture to help us move fast and solve problems quickly.
You will use jQuery, Backbone, Selenium, Mocha, and our in-house DOM binding libraries to write tested, efficient code to connect our API to the end user. You will introduce new tools, plugins and frameworks to our ecosystem to help development speed. You will implement mockups made by our talented design team in an efficient manner (we're a little obsessed with sprite sheets) that work in all major browsers. You will regularly perform critical analysis of your peers' code in reviews on Github.
A good candidate possesses the following qualifications:
Familiarity with jQuery best practices and internals
Experience using a front end template framework
Have implemented tests for front-end code (Mocha, Selenium, QUnit…)
Bulletproof knowledge of the DOM, CSS, and HTML, especially for cross browser support (we only go back to IE8, don't worry)
Very comfortable with the Git branching and merging model
Experience optimizing websites for speed and perceived load time
Comfortable in a Linux environment
Proficiency in PhotoShop for converting mockups to HTML and images
Relational database experience
