We employ a full-time editor for each community we serve, and create personalized news in towns across the country, encouraging participiation from local users with our high-quality content. We're looking for experienced web developers who are passionate about web standards and semantic markup and have experience delivering it for live sites. Specifically, you should have:
A passion for JavaScript and UI programming using client-side libraries like jQuery and Prototype.
Knowledge of advanced client-side techniques including optimization, object-oriented architecture, automated testing and cross-browser development.
Experience delivering advanced client-side solutions for high-traffic, production applications.
Ability to work collaboratively with design, product management, and engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience working with Git or other VCS.
Bonus points for experience with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
Links to sites you have developed or open source projects you have authored are a huge plus.
