Front End Ruby Developer

Patch is a new local news company focused on reinventing community journalism one town at a time. We employ a full-time editor for each community we serve, and create personalized news in towns across the country, encouraging participiation from local users with our high-quality content. We've been very successful in meeting our goals so far, and with a big expansion planned for 2010, we need your help!
We're looking for experienced web developers who are passionate about web standards and semantic markup and have experience delivering it with Ruby web frameworks.
A passion for JavaScript and UI programming using client-side libraries like jQuery and Prototype.
Knowledge of advanced client-side techniques including optimization, object-oriented architecture, automated testing, and cross-browser development.
Experience developing server-side projects with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
Demonstrated skill at developing database-backed web applications.
A knack for moving back and forth between front-end and back-end tasks effortlessly.
Ability to work collaboratively with design, product management, and engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience working with Git or other VCS.
Links to sites you have developed or open source projects you have authored are a huge plus.
College Degree
