Tidal Labs is a rapidly expanding NYC startup that uses technology to enable collaboration and interaction between publishers and the bloggers that want to work with them. Our long-term mission is to enable cross-disciplinary collaboration between creatives, brands, publishers, and partners of all types. We develop and maintain both a heavy-hitting and robust enterprise backend and a beautiful, consumer-friendly front end.
You’ll wear several hats a full-stack software engineer at Tidal Labs, with responsibilities to client-facing software, dashboards and reporting tools, servers and systems, backend code, and API development.
You should be a skilled software engineer and have a passion for learning, teaching, and leading. You’ll be working with a dozen different technologies, some new and exciting, some enterprise and boring. You should have an uncanny ability to quickly understand problems, pick them apart, and rapidly implement a solution.
We work with dozens of high-profile clients, and our work needs to be swift but precise. Our stack maintains 99.99% availability and < 20ms page generation time for client-facing sites. You’ll have significant responsibilities, ownership, and autonomy, and will be part of a quick-moving team of bright, dedicated people.
Maintaining and improving existing features; developing new products and features.
Interfacing with clients and building better tools to satisfy their needs.
Maintaining system and codebase health: unit tests, code reviews, documentation, server health, etc.
Building things: big and exciting things, small and boring things. You need to love building.
Becoming a better engineer and helping the people on your team become better engineers.
Linux system administration
Serious software engineering skills. We don’t care how many years of experience you’ve had or how many jobs you’ve held, but you need to be confident in your abilities to build or solve anything.
Excellent communication skills. You’ll be working with a team of engineers, producers, project managers, and clients, and need to be able to communicate easily and clearly.
Proven success in developing & delivering on product and technology roadmaps.
The ability and passion to learn new skills rapidly and often.
