Overview
We’re looking for a lead full stack developer who loves building awesome software and wants to create exciting new experiences to revolutionize the way we shop and sell fashion all over the “wrld.” You should have programming experience from the last two years.
You will have ownership in shaping product development from concept to launch as we are an early stage startup, and we’re always eager to hear your creative ideas. Given our “ship quickly” to test, learn, and iterate mindset, you’ll be able to push site updates with new features regularly in front of tens of thousands of users from around the world. If there’s a good fit and you demonstrate great leadership skills, this role can evolve into a CTO role.

About Material Wrld
Material Wrld (MaterialWrld.com) is a curated online fashion community for shoppable personal closets. Founded by two friends and classmates from Harvard Business School with backgrounds in fashion eCommerce, we’re disrupting the fashion resale industry on a global scale. We just launched a beautiful beta site this Fall and are seed-funded. We've been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and Women's Wear Daily as "Fashion's New eBay."
Responsibilities
Take ownership of site build and drive features and experiences that will revolutionize the way people shop and sell fashion.
Build a high-performance product to support a community of fashion enthusiasts (see tech notes below).
Identify and solve the problems of building a social marketplace.
(bonus points) Experience working in a start-up environment.
(bonus points) A love for marketplaces and/or fashion.
Experience
Strong knowledge of at least one back-end web technology, best practices, and methodologies.
Experience with version control (e.g. Git).
Experience with eCommerce and social share features.
Excellent communication skills and a great attitude.
Skills
Back-end development of Material Wrld has been done so far with Node.js, MySQL, Coffeescript, Heroku hosting, Amazon S3, GitHub, and Google Analytics. Experience with these technologies would be preferred though not required.
Education
Bachelor in Computer Science preferred
