Game Designer

at Kixeye in San Francisco, CA   —   Apr 12, 2014   |  
Want to build truly unique games played by millions of daily users? As a Game Designer at KIXEYE, you will work closely with our co-founders and Executive Producers on new game development and strategy. You will balance both quantitative and qualitative insights to design and optimize smart, engaging features for our active and growing user base.
Help manage the creative direction of a game throughout development & lifecycle of the game
Pitch innovative game features that are designed to improve customer acquisition, engagement and/or monetization, but overall must be fun
Work with engineering and art teams to effectively implement new features and systems
Manage game systems, economics & mechanics
Modeling and tuning complex game systems using Excel
Provide clear feature documentation, diagrams, wireframes and/or prototypes
Analyze live data and player feedback to continually optimize existing game experience
Assist in writing of game editorial content, including fiction, descriptions, and tutorials
3+ years game design experience for a shipped product
Ability to analyze gameplay mechanics and feature designs
Experience and interest with player-driven economies
Able to design game systems, individual gameplay features & player progressions
Understanding of game balance, including statistics, virtual goods, economics and user motivations
Understanding of interaction design concepts and principles
Able to excel in an agile team environment
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Experience writing product specifications
A passion for playing and making video games
Bachelor’s degree required; game design degree a plus
