The General Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting 3-5 start up clients and developing a professional relationship with the client management and staff. The General Accounting Manager will also be responsible for all general accounting functions and processes at each client. Travel between clients is required and your daily schedule may vary based on the needs of the clients. Flexibility and great customer service skills are a must in this position!
Managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable function.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts at month-end.
Training and mentoring Staff Accountants
Prepare historical OPEX analysis for annual budgeting process
Complete the annual tax worksheets provided by Mohler Nixon in anticipation of the quarterly tax filings
Complete annual property tax returns
Perform other ad-hoc analysis as required by managers or client
Reviewing and processing expense reports and corporate credit cards statements.
Managing payroll processing and participating in benefit enrollments and renewals.
Fixed assets tracking and depreciation.
Account reconciliations and general ledger account management.
Financial statement preparation including cash flow statements.
Perform such accounting, financial and/or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.
At least 5 years general accounting experience and 2+ years accounting manager experience.
Demonstrated success working collaboratively: within a functional team, across departmental functions and with an executive management team.
Strong communication skills.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.
Demonstrated success in fast paced start up environment. Experience in mid-size and public companies a plus.
Proficiency in all MS Office programs, advanced skill in Excel, experience with Intacct, NetSuite, Great Plans or other mid-tier systems.
Experience in QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA license a plus
