Overview
Stray Boots is hiring a designer at our urban game / mobile-guided exploration startup. You see, we adore great design but aren't so hot at creating it ourselves, so we're looking for a talented designer to make our site and apps as fun to use as they are functional, and as communicative as they are pretty.
You'll be the first in-house designer on our team, and you'll never lack for variety: you'll be redesigning our logo and branding, our mobile app and website, marketing materials, email communications, designing interfaces for entirely new site and app features, and everything in between.
We don't just want a Photoshop operator: take charge of our design projects and come up with solutions we didn't realize were possible to the problems we didn't even know we had. We'll depend on you to cut through the too-long list of competing concepts that we want to communicate, to come up with focused, uncluttered designs that funnel the user towards the most important actions.
If you communicate well both visually and with words... If clumsy interfaces make you wince... If you obsess as deeply over macro-scale balance as you do over the exact right hue of blue or the pixel-perfect placement of a period... then we want you on our team!
About Stray Boots - The Long Version
Stray Boots is reinventing city exploration with scavenger hunt-style games you play using your cell phone (think your own private "Amazing Race").
So far, we've generated over 60,000 paying customers and developed products in 16 cities in the US and UK, not to mention being featured in the NY Times, Washington Post, and Fast Company. Having graduated the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator program (ERA) and obtained Series A VC funding, we're now building out our tech team so we can grow more quickly.
Founded by three Ivy-Leaguers with a passion for travel, we think we strike a pretty good workplace balance between playful and focused, between weekly meetings and Beer Fridays. You'll be joining a close-knit, enthusiastic and hard-working team fully invested in our product, customers, and vision.
