316 Ventures is looking for a kick ass graphic designer who is a) good, b) strong at CSS, c) thinks usability is a prelude, not an afterthought.
Beta-stage consumer internet company in the music space is looking for a designer for our Web applications. Our product connects artists and fans by serving all of the constituents that make and create the music experience (fans, artists, artist managers, concert promoters, ticket sellers, etc.)
This is an opportunity to design and shape a product that the market is demanding.
We are located in downtown SF and are angel funded.
Help design complex web user interface and application interactions
Participate with product managers, developers, and the mail guy in formal and informal usability testing (we are all the voice of the user at 316 Ventures)
Serve as the voice of design in product feature discussions
Create, discuss, have an opinion on, and revise our style guide
Iterate quickly and improve designs for user flows based on “real-time” data to improve the success of user flows
Keep up-to-date with leading edge user interface designs, skills and products
Serve as an advocate for the end-user experience
An excellent track record in consumer internet products
Has a solid track record in consumer internet products OR data-driven opinion on design improvements to our current site or a top consumer site of your choice
The ideal candidate for this role possesses the following:
Expert HTML and CSS proficiency
Able to code for all modern browsers (including IE 6)
Experience with JS library and YUI a plus
Strong experience with:
Can communicate effectively
Manages timeliness effectively
Works well in a team environment
Previous start-up experience
Dabbles in humor and sarcasm
Compensation consists of salary plus options, commensurate with experience.
