Overview
BeforeWeDo is a health 2.0 startup that helps its users to understand their own and their partners sexual health before they become intimate. Based on their demographics and location and latest test results, it provides its users with specific recommendations. Think of Mint.com and Verisign for reproductive health. It coaches its users to screen regularly, verifies the test information and manages and drives the embarrassing STD test talk for its users so they don't have to. With 19 million new STD/STI infections in the US every year, this is a problem worth solving!
The startup is part of the 2012 Bay Area chapters of the Founders Institute and the Startup Leadership Program incubator, both boasting a powerful network in all major startup cities around the world!
We live the lean startup methodology, iterate our MVP through learn-build-measure cycles until we hit that sweet spot. We will ALL get our butts out of the building to talk to our users. :-)

Responsibilities
You will join the current founders to build a secure platform (MVP currently developed in Rails) that will interface to
web clients (we are using bootstrap right now)
mobile apps (we are thinking Titanium)
and potentially interface with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
We develop based on scrums that are integrated into customer development cycles - yes, you will also talk to end users!
Experience
You don't just want a job. You want to put a dent in this universe.
4+ years experience with some frontend and backend web stack (Rails, Python, Node, Javascript etc.).
You have built a HIPAA compliant application before. Security and confidentiality will be even more important when we expand to the EU.
Experience making user behavior measurable. Metrics are a key part of our strategy.
Skills
Experience with cryptography and even zero knowledge systems.
Appreciation for good design.
Familiarity with a/b and multivariate testing.
Passion for writing clean, maintainable code with tests. You enjoy refactoring.
You like to work with a ticket system like JIRA/GreenHopper to get stuff organized.
Education
At least a bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science or other technical degree

Compensation
This position is a co-founding position for BeforeWeDo which is currently in bootstrapping stage and going through two incubation programs in parallel (FI and SLP). Compensation, perks and other forms of remuneration will be provided in accordance with achieved business milestones of the company.
