Responsibilities
Hire, develop, and retain top FPGA design and verification talent.
Manage design team and own full FPGA development including concept, micro-architecture, block level RTL, verification, synthesis, place and route, bring-up, debug, test and sustaining product support.
Write and maintain FPGA functional specifications and design and integration documents.
Work with system software to define and implement diagnostic testing into FPGA.
Create and promote FPGA development processes that encourage innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity.
with product management, sales, and services to define functionality on future products.
Plan projects by leading the team to scope deliverables, provide estimates, and manage resource allocation across multiple product lines and releases.
Develop and maintain schedules and actively own and manage the development by identifying and mitigating risk to deliver on time with high quality.
Experience
7+ years of experience in FPGA design with 3+ years of management experience.
Proficient in Verilog, System Verilog and Python.
Must have taken multiple large FPGA designs from concept into production.
Familiar with some of the following: SERDES, DDR2, DDR3, PCIe, Fibre Channel, FCoE
Candidate should have the ability to take high level design requirements and optimally implement into Altera FPGA architecture.
Expert in Quartus II synthesis and place & route tools.
Experience using ModelSim/Questa simulator.
Use a variety of network test equipment including Traffic Generators and Protocol Analyzers.
Board and FPGA bring up and software test is required.
Need to be able to estimate and schedule projects.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
UNIX Systems Administration (AIX is desirable)
Education
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, MS preferred
