Overview
We are seeking to hire a skilled engineer who can specify circuit boards and then write the firmware that brings them to life as products. We seek an innovative and creative candidate who can continuously recognize opportunities to improve our products as well as reduce costs and improve quality. We develop our firmware in-house in close coordination with a team of domain experts in order to ensure the final product meets the highest customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Write and test firmware for existing and future commercial products.
Work with 3rd parties on board-level design for new products.
Support external partners developing products with our Ambient datacast chipsets (http://www.ambientdevices.com/datacasting).
Research and implement core technology for use in all products.
Continual cost reduction and quality improvement for all products.
Work with overseas contract manufacturers – some Asia travel may be required.
Some China travel may be required.
Experience
2 – 5 years full-lifecycle experience building shipping hardware applications.
C programming language and at least one embedded compiler platform.
Basic Java programming skills (our test fixtures and interfaces for user-facing
web software are written in Java).
Strong written and oral communication skills.

RF-Front end design
Short-range RF transceivers and software protocols
TN LCD drivers
TFT LCD screens
Low-power circuit design
TV out – composite, component, and HDMI
Technical writing and documentation for external clients
Mandarin language competency
Writing patent disclosures
