Head of Sales (New York)

AppTap is a venture-backed social discovery and advertising start-up reinventing the way apps are discovered. We are the leading network for app advertising and recommendations, connecting millions of consumers with targeted, relevant apps across our partners, including Sprint, AOL and USA TODAY.

With over 600,000 apps available in the app stores today, app developers are struggling to rise above the noise. With $60B in app revenues projected, app developers need an advertising platform to market their apps and build their businesses. AppTap is that platform.

We want you to help build and lead our sales organization from the ground-up. We're looking for an energetic, creative, self-motivated, sales leader with a proven track record in digital or mobile ad sales to immediately own and execute our sales strategy. We are open to filling this job in New York City or San Francisco.
Strategy: Define our sales strategy through research, competitive analysis, and client input. Be a key contributor to product strategy.
Revenue: Drive advertising and sponsorship revenue through direct sales with clients (app developers) or agencies.
Partnerships: Identify strategic partnerships (key agencies, brands, etc) that advance our sales and revenue goals.
Evangelism: Attend and speak at key industry events, establish AppTap as a thought and business leader in app discovery and advertising.
Leadership: Play a key role as a member of AppTap’s senior team.
Self-motivated leader with a passion for closing deals
10+ years experience in digital advertising sales, mobile apps a plus
Existing senior level industry relationships with top brands and agencies, leading mobile app developer contacts and familiarity a plus
Proven track record reaching and exceeding sales goals, and building and retaining key client relationships with brands and agencies
Experience defining and leading execution of sales strategies, including CPM and performance-based digital advertising
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently with little guidance, and comfort with a fast-paced, fluid start-up environment
BS/BA degree or equivalent training and experience. MBA a plus.
