IT Business Systems Analyst/Project Manager

VC funded and rapidly growing tech startup is looking to grow and add people to its team. The startup provides a service to reduce costs on wireless bills. Startup has received considerable press attention.

The IT Business Systems Analyst will work with business users, stakeholders, management and other staff to gather requirements and develop an understanding of our business processes. Findings will be used to determine business needs and to define, design, implement and maintain integrated application solutions to meet those needs.
Actively seek ways to apply technology to business processes to meet strategic goals through conceptual understanding of technology and strong business insight and experience.
Meet with Business Units, on an ongoing basis, to develop an understanding of current and future business needs.
Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant IT Business technology by frequently meeting with IT personnel.
When Business Technology needs upgrading, work with the IT team and Business Units to develop needs documents that will be used for the purchase of new applications or upgrades to current technology.
Act as a lead for selection, purchase, implementation and upgrade of new business applications required for Accounting, Project Management, Planning, Resource Management, etc.
Work with the IT team and business units to develop plans for application implementations / upgrades.
Work with the business units to develop test plans and procedures, to validate the application design, and schedule user training as needed.
Participate as a Business Requirements Subject Matter Expert to support firm business projects.
Provide ad hoc training as part of business application deployment.
Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects.

Manage the risks to the program’s successful outcome
Report progress of the program at regular intervals to the program director.

Manage the program’s budget on behalf of the program director, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the program progresses.

Plan the program and monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
5+ years of experience as an IT Business Systems Analyst
The ability to synthesize information into concise readable documents, using unambiguous language.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the ability to develop professional presentations.
The ability to interview business users and functional leaders in order to gather technical requirements.
Comprehensive knowledge of .NET, PostgreSql, Data Warehousing, Databases and Reporting Tools, Workflow, and Web Technologies.
Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Process.
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management concepts and implementation techniques.
Problem solving; ability to think logically; ability to analyze many parts of a complex problem at the same time.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
BS Degree, preferably in Information Technology or Management Information Systems
