Informatics Specialist

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the expansion of HealthTap's novel, consumer-friendly health ontology
Develop and maintain HealthTap's healthcare terminologies
Ensure the effectiveness and understandability of terminologies as they appear for both members and healthcare professionals on our service and in our external communications
Engage with our knowledgebase development team to support the effective use of terminologies
Manage content-development efforts that support user understanding of healthcare topics
Experience
Medical degree or training with significant experience in terminology development (MD or DO preferred, RN, PhD and other medical training considered)
Formal training and experience in medical informatics, medical information systems, or medical terminologies
A deep understanding of clinical processes is required, so training in a clinical field with healthcare delivery experience is expected
Deep, demonstrated project-management experience on projects related to terminology development, software development, or software implementation
Skills
Prior clinical experience or intimate familiarity with the current medical practice environment
Understanding of the state of the art in decision analysis, medical AI, and data-driven decision support methods
Deep familiarity with medical ontologies, medical vocabularies and coding systems (UMLS, SNOMED, RxNorm, MESH, CPT, ICD9, etc.), and other standards (HL7, CDA, CCD, CCR etc.)
Prior experience with consumer health vocabularies
Experience with NLP and semantic analysis
