Innovation Platform Sales Manager

Ready to change the world? We just got a pledge for $100K of seed funding to launch a new open innovation platform spawned in the Defense Innovation Network. Our goal is to empower employees to get their ideas heard through a unique SaaS solution that will enhance transparency and accountability for the middle management layers of larger organizations. We'll then enhance innovation by allowing this data to move horizontally between peers, partners and suppliers-- as well as internal groups for intrapreneurship.

You're going to be the point person to bring in new accounts, most likely in the healthcare space to start, and determine how we can best sell our solution. We would like to develop a salary + bonus structure to enhance the teamwork aspect, and we'll be looking to you to help us grow once we get corporate clients on board. This is vision selling. It's not easy. And we need someone with a proven track record to do it, plus we're willing to pay a very LARGE bonus if you get dollars in the door quickly within our three month launch period.
Establish sales objectives.
Plan, organize, direct and control your sales staff (when we add more) to meet these objectives.
Use objectives to help all staff maximize their potential.
Achieve forecasted sales by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) your written plan of action.
Monitor daily sales performance and compare it with monthly objectives.
Review financial data that affects our profit.
Meet daily with salesmen when we add more people.
Offer coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information needed to help meet sales objectives.
Goal setting to maximize both present and long term sales and gross profits.
Keeping face-to-face contact with your sales people and you must stay current on financial data and inventory.
Maintain inventory control.
Fearless on the phone and in person
Exceptional rolodex in a specific industry (healthcare preferred unless you think there is more $$$ elsewhere)
Not pushy, but tactful.
Persistent, yet not annoying.
High confidence
Team player
School of hard knocks.
