Overview
As the Lead Engineer you will develop, deploy, test, monitor, and co-design a cost-effective and sustainable platform for micro-volunteering. Strong organizational skills, deep technical expertise, and sound attention to detail are key in this mission critical role. You will work closely with Ben, our CTO, to lead a small but intense coding team. You will have the counsel of industry-leading Advisors.
Responsibilities
Areas of focus include:
Develop The Extraordinaries platform and API using PHP (Zend) & MySQL
Maximize the performance, uptime, integrity and supportability
Put Agile best-practices in place
Manage workflow of coding team, testing, and deployment
Experience
Deep expertise in PHP and experience managing a team of developers
Experience building scalable solutions
Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with mobile software and platform/web engineers
Ability to scope technical requirements, timeline and deliverables using an Agile-based approach
Solid grounding in the following areas:
Open source stacks
Scripting & shell skills
Systems monitoring and testing tools
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus
Participation in open source projects a plus
Experience developing/supporting APIs a plus
