ShermansTravel Media, a leading online publisher of travel deals and destination advice, is searching for an Interactive Web Designer to lead our development efforts, working with our technology and business teams.
The Web Designer will be responsible for the website design and development at ShermansTravel.com, designing content layout for the website, landing pages, email newsletter products, and banners. The Web Designer will have a strong design background and will be able to design creative, user-friendly, brand-consistent interfaces across the ShermansTravel product line.
—3-5 years experience with web and/or graphic interactive design, with strong experience in consumer publishing/media and social media.
—Experience with or exposure to Flash, the Adobe Suite, and PHP
—Thorough understanding of design principles including: typography, color, composition, hierarchy, etc.
The Web Designer will be a key figure in the design process throughout the company on a variety of initiatives and must be comfortable acting in both a technical and artistic capacity.
Aesthetics: For an example of the kind of sites, products, etc. that ShermansTravel Media is working on, and the style they will be leaning towards, relevant sites include www.washingtonpost.com and www.nytimes.com as opposed to some of the more graphically rich, Flash-based websites favored by design agencies and major fashion houses.
