Internship - Software Engineer

Poutsch is looking for a bunch of talented back-end software engineers for an 8-month internship starting in December 2012.

The work will vary widely across the software stack. You could be designing social graph algorithms, improving speed and scalability, building web features, prototyping new technologies or product ideas, or improving our search or recommendations systems.

The candidate will have a lot of impact and a lot of freedom. With that comes the responsibility to ship quality code, so we’re looking for people that take quality as a point of pride.
You will experience rapid development cycle with development in a php environment.
Work on performance, resilience and scaling, tools for partners use, and ingestion of content from partners.
Build a backend analytics platform, making architectural decisions and evaluating new technologies.
Participate in the analysis, design, development, and testing of Web applications for consumer-facing web site.
Develop new products and perform upgrades, enhancements or maintenance to existing products.
Work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients as needed, including collaborating with team members or clients based internationally.
Fluent in an object oriented programming language
Familiar with databases (SQL and NoSQL)
Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures
A solid understanding of HTTP and REST APIs
Some great code on GitHub
Solid written and verbal communication skills
French is a plus
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
