Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to develop everything under the hood of our core product. This means the back-end of wanderfly.com, which includes writing Java code to interact with our database and object layer, accessing and aggregating data from various external sources, and even designing and implementing our own API. You will be working closely with our Director of Technology and CEO on a daily basis to create our engine. You will be responsible for everything from high-level application and component architecture, down to nitty-gritty implementation of caching, authentication and session management.

Experience
MUST be located in NYC and either a US citizen or permanent resident
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
2-3 years experience developing server-side Java-based web applications
Passion for brilliant design and user experience is a must
Experience in travel industry is a plus
Skills
Deep experience with object-oriented programming and the creation of readable, reusable code
Working knowledge of web technologies (Web Services/HTML/JavaScript/CSS)
Deep working knowledge of Spring is highly desirable
Comfort with Linux server configuration/administration (Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, etc.) a major plus
Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment to rapidly bring ideas to life onli
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
