Overview
Junior Oracle DBA
Responsibilities
Perform DB installation, start-up, shutdown, and recovery tasks
Perform database user administration and enforce database security parameters
Perform database networking configuration and administration
Perform database capacity planning and storage administration
Provide scripting techniques to automate processes and/or to troubleshoot developer's code to provide for database queries
Performance tune and optimize database components (database and application servers if applicable)
Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for all database components
Perform database performance analysis, reporting, and configuration
Participate with the design of stress, interoperability, integration and performance tests for new applications
Determine and enforce recommended (database) deployment, configuration, and setup methodologies for all database instances
Participate in overall technical strategy as it relates to expansion and growth of the database footprint
Participate in testing efforts pertaining to database schemas including migrations during upgrades
Assist in building High Availability for all databases
Ensure confidentiality of Driscoll's proprietary information
Work within Company guidelines to meet department and corporate strategic goals.
Experience
1-3 yrs experience preferred. (Freshers who possess DBA skills with high potential are encouraged to apply)
Skills
RDBMS Technologies - Oracle (latest versions), Preferred - MS-SQL Server, My-SQL, Postgres
DBA functions - DB backup and recovery, capacity planning, replication, high availability & perf tuning
Knowledge of data warehousing, data tuning and data mining concepts, including design, development, testing, and deployment
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
Education
BS or MS in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
