Overview
The Java Engineer will work in a small, dynamic team that maintains close daily interaction with the business, design, and marketing aspects of the company. The individual must be self-motivated and have the ability to learn and apply new technologies on the fly.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting backend services for Philo's web, mobile, and 3rd-party applications.
Work on agile teams to deliver best in class, high-quality software in time. Delight consumers by releasing software frequently and regularly.
Build new web-based features and interfaces for the powerful real-time interaction platform.
Redefine and iterate on existing products to improve the quality of existing products.
Participate in agile planning exercises like release planning and sprint planning
Experience
Minimum 2+ years working on Java server side applications or open source projects.
Skills
Strong object oriented design and development skills.
Hands-on experience with open source Java frameworks including Spring and Hibernate a plus.
RDBMS experience (MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle preferred).
XML, Tomcat, Eclipse, Maven, STS all a plus.
Team player capable of working in a close knit group.
Ability to work independently, multitask and manage time effectively.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
