Junior Project Manager

By optimizing the power of adaptive technologies, our Learning products support individualized instruction for students and, at the same time, facilitate classroom management for teachers.

The Junior Project Manager will gain experience on a large-scale project under the guidance of Senior Project Managers. Additionally, there is the potential for the Junior PM to serve as the primary PM on one or more smaller projects.

Ensure team is fully functional and productive / Remove barriers to progress and shield team from external influences
Serve as primary owner for vendor management and budget tracking, e.g. onboarding of new contractors, tracking spend, processing invoices
Work closely with Senior PM to track and report progress across multiple sprints
Coalesce sprint metrics from several agile subteams, including burndown charts and analyses of velocity
Manage logistics to support distributed team wide meetings, e.g., sprint planning sessions, demos, and retrospectives
Act as Scrum Master of small agile team - facilitate daily scrums and enable close coordination across all team members
Work closely with Technical Product Owner to facilitate bi-weekly sprint ceremonies, including restrospectives, demos, and sprint planning sessions
Develop project plans and project estimates
Prepare sprint and release metrics to communicate progress and quality of release
1+ years project management experience using a formal methodology to deliver software through all phases of the SDLC
Understanding of technology and the ability to learn quickly
Interest in Web 2.0 software and how it can integrate into business processes
Risk management and contingency planning experience
Vendor management experience
Proficient in the use of technologies like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project scheduling tool (e.g. MS Project, SmartSheet)
Proven organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Enjoy planning out work, problem-solving, and working with teams of people
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
