We are developing a ground breaking new concept in the music industry. Focused on the social aspects of creating rather than distributing music, we are founded by industry executives, musicians and Internet veterans. We've attracted a top-tier advisory board, raised our first round of funding and are looking for a talented and innovative UI developer to join the founding team. So far we have a detailed requirements document, plenty of wireframes, some stuff in development and we've raised the funds necessary to code this thing all the way to live. We also have some initial comps our creative director put together for logo, colors etc.
Frankly, the only thing missing is a UI that's as killer as the product scope and functionality. Indeed, our target audience will demand a highly usable, clean yet deeply functional site and we've raised the profile of our UI emphasis to such an important level that we're not going to start developing until we've found the right person to design and build the user experience.
You'll have the perfect blend of creativity and pragmatism, able to quickly conceptualize, comp and then deliver on some of the best UI available. You'll be a designer, yet technically proficient with XHTML, CSS and JS libraries.
We'll expect you to lead the UI process from where we are today starting with a ground-up design building on what we already have. Next, you'll prepare comps from the wireframes for all the pages, get our input and when finalized cut up and code XHTML, DHTML, JS and whatever you need for our .NET-based development team to plug straight into the pages they will be building.
Everything will be cross-browser (IE6 support not necessary, but we've a lot of PC, Mac, Safari, IE7+, FireFox and Chrome target users). When the developers are busy implementing your code you'll be on-hand to answer questions and do acceptance testing on the UI.
