Overview
Polar Rose is seeking a Lead Architect for our Web Services team in Warsaw, Poland. The team is responsible for the design and implementation of our photo web services infrastructure, including processing and storage of data as well as internal and external APIs. The lead architect will report to the CTO and work tightly with the product manager to set the direction and the technical requirements for the evolution of our services. The lead architect handles the overall design of our system and is responsible for that system's operational stability and scalability.
Experience
Experience and a strong track record with building and operating large-scale web applications.
Experience with large scale backend systems and databases
Experience with Java application server infrastructure.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (nice to have).
Experience building loosely coupled service oriented infrastructures (nice to have).
Experience with working in distributed teams (nice to have).
Skills
Fluent in speaking and writing English.
Excellent communication and release planning skills.
Education
M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent; a Ph.D. is a plus.
