You have architected and developed an end-to-end back-end system for web application, preferably in Java i.e. Enterprise Java stack (J2EE frameworks)
As important as the skillset if you desire and willingness to work for a startup with an audacious goal. You will work closely with the founding team and be a part of it.
Be a key part of the founding team - work hard - but play harder and have fun
You will be taking over the responsibility of entire back-end architecture of a highly scalable payment system.
Developing and enhancing the current development framework to rollout new feature sets
Design and architect various components of back-end payment system
Be responsible for laying the standards of building a highly scalable development environment for incoming engineers
Working closely with business side of things to translate business requirements to technical requirements, product definition and actual implementation from concept through coding and QA of new feature sets.
Foremost: Be a self starter, motivated and enthusiastic. Never take No for answer. We are building the next gen payment system and it will take not just super architecture and coding skills but also a "can-do" attitude
Java programmer - architect level domain expertise in Apache, Tomcat, Java frameworks
Opensource application servers ideally Glassfish (or JBoss)
Database (Postgresql, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
ORM mapping (JPA, Hibernate, etc.)
Experience in working on projects which involve aspects such as security, deployment, performance, caching, sizing, scalability, and service availability.
JDBC & SQL Experience
Your technical skillset is important however "chemistry" is as important. We have a radical idea to change payments as we know then and it will take a kick-a** team to go for it. You need to have "never take no for an answer" attitude. Team player, not a prima-donna.
Must have done all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
The developer will also be expected to take ownership of significant portions of our product.
Java, J2EE, and other technologies to build and maintain highly scalable, highly available, modular code.
Basically if you have what it takes to be a "lead engineer" i.e. ability to do architecture and implementation of multi-functional highly scalable web application without a lot of external help - you've got what we are looking for.
Ideally you will have a technical background. An advanced degree in engineering would be great. If you don't have one be prepared to tell us why you feel you are as good as the rest of them - or better yet - better than the rest of them.
Compensation will be cash + equity. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to come in pre-series A and wants more than just fraction of a percent of equity.
We have some angel compensation so there will be a cash component.
