Lead E-commerce Engineer

Overview
We’re looking for a top class e-commerce developer and technical visionary to lead the development of our core platform from day 1 1/2. You’ll be involved in everything from helping us develop the base platform and processes. It’s a big responsibility, so we’re looking for the best.
Responsibilities
Define coding conventions and technical documentation standards.
Manage and participate in the development process.
Conduct code reviews and conformance testing as defined by the methodology.
Establish and manage an automated test process, including integration and system testing.
Select, deploy and monitor performance profiling tools and procedures.
Evaluate and select web application hosting providers.
Establish application deployment process and manage deployment to staging and production servers.
Monitor application performance and review any application failures in staging or production.
Establish and monitor web analytics regime that measures site traffic and application usage relative to business goals.
Establish a process to integrate customer service and support with the software engineering process to support resolution of customer issues and improve application usability.
Experience
You’ll also have an undying passion for the web, technology and coding, perhaps demonstrated by an active participation in open source software and a blog/Twitter sharing your insights; experience in (and/or passion for) working in a start-up environment where there’s no limit on ambition or creativity and where energy and enthusiasm are a must; the ability to work in a small, focused team to achieve big, ambitious goals.
Skills
5 years or expert knowledge of PHP with an emphasis on using PHP in an object orientated framework, specifically the Zend Framework
Experience with Magento E-Commerce platform, community or enterprise edition, a big plus
Previous experience developing the architecture of high quality social web applications and scaling them
Familiarity in utilising and building API’s and data feed
Experience integrating and tweaking online payment systems
A solid understanding of Javascript, HTML/XLST, Postgre SQL/MySQL and AJAX
Experience building and managing a small, but focused technical team
A good sense of humor and the ability to roll with the punches
