Overview
Toogethr (http://www.toogethr.com) is an innovative ridesharing service which launched early 2012. Our main office is located in Amsterdam. We have the ambition to make mobility affordable, sustainable and accessible through combining mobile technology, social network technology, and content.
We are looking for a lead developer with an entrepreneurial spirit. We employ a Lean Startup approach towards reaching our business and development goals. We value your creativity, input, drive and ambition.
You will lead the development of new products and features in the Toogethr product roadmap. Therefore you must be able to influence, drive and take ownership of our development practices. You will have lots of autonomy and responsibility. You are also are a person capable of leading the development team as it expands.

Responsibilities
Engage with developers and designers in the team
Develop new features front to back as part of the team
Lead the team in area of great software design and quality
Drive innovation with new ideas for our products and processes
Point out issues with existing architecture and code, and fix it
Experience
Strong understanding of engineering practices
Broad knowledge and understanding of the industry
Wide experience of successful and failed projects
Ability to slice and dice problems so they can be worked on by several people
Desire and ability to mentor junior developers
Skills
Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Java
Deep architectural understanding of web applications
Knowledge in back end technologies like Hibernate, Lucene, SQL or others
Superior creative and innovative problem-solving skills
Initiative and the ability to work independently and in a team
Knowledge in front end web technologies (CSS, JavaScript, REST, JSON)
Knowledge of Open Source libraries, tools and frameworks
Excitement for latest trends in application design
Experience with agile software development
Interest to learn more about new languages and frameworks
