Overview
Oroeco is seeking an engineer interested in helping the world become a better place by enabling people to dynamically track their social and environmental impacts. You would be instrumental in setting up the software framework for the initial product launch and completing a large chunk of the code. It's a chance to exercise your coding skills and influence the direction of the product itself. We're still a small team (<10), so it's a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor.
Responsibilities
Lead back-end development for our impending web and mobile apps.
Experience
Senior engineer with at least a year of Ruby on Rails experience.
HTML, CSS, Ajax, and Javascript background.
Database development and design (PostgreSQL a plus).
Previous experience deploying web apps (start-up environment a plus).
Mobile development (a big plus).
Experience with scalability and managing large quantities of data.
Interest in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
Passion for making the world a better place (a big plus).
Skills
A quick learner for whatever skills are needed to get the job done.
Creativity.
Education
MS from the school of life. The rest of us have fancy degrees, though we don't think they're worth much.
Compensation
Both cash and equity compensation are available, depending on experience and commitment level.
