Overview
Are you a rock-star UX/UI Designer looking to lead the design direction for products in the hottest space in software right now: mobile, location-based services? Then you should contact us about joining our small, growing early-stage start-up team made up of talented, experienced engineering & business professionals.
In this role, you will lead the specification of the end-to-end user experience for v1 of the web & mobile applications, including the information architecture, UI components, graphic design, iconography & digital layout.
The position is a growth opportunity, as we’re looking for someone that can transition into the Head of UX & Design as the company brings on more team members and expands.
Responsibilities
Develop wire-frames & specifications for the end-to-end user experience for the web & mobile product lines
Champion user-centric design, creating simple, elegant workflows & UI elements that make the products easy to understand and use
Design creative,eye-catching graphical elements for products & the corporate presence
Work with Engineering on the implementation of the design specifications
Experience
5+ years designing consumer Web or Mobile Applications
Ability to work in a small team, independently, and return with amazing results
Decision-maker, with talents at convincing others of design direction
Good communication skills, utilizing both written & visual methods
Prior experience managing direct reports
Located in the San Francisco/Bay Area, or willing to relocate
Skills
Whiz with Visual Design applications (i.e. Photoshop, Omnigraffle, etc.)
Applied knowledge of mobile UI tool-kits (i.e. Apple iOS, Android, etc.)
Solid grasp of HTML, CSS & scripting
Amazing eye for good design
Education
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Symbolic Systems or other related technical/design field (minimum)
- MS in Human-Computer Interaction or MFA in Digital or Interaction Design (preferred)
