Lead User Interface/User Experience Engineer for Rapidly Growing Startup!

Want to drive design and build the front end of a compelling startup that sits at the intersection of Consumer Internet & Energy? Earth Aid ( is looking for User Interface/User Experience Engineers/Designers to take the lead in building our next generation product and position us for a large, public re-launch with our many major partners. We crave engineers/designers that want a single digit employee number and can define best practices that will build a company.

Earth Aid is a leading energy start-up that has developed the first free service that enables individuals to monitor their electric, gas, and water utility usage in one place online, compare their usage to that of their friends and neighbors, receive customized tips to help them save, and earn rewards from hundreds of participating businesses - including multiple national brands - for saving energy. Earth Aid is bringing to market one of the most compelling Internet services to date.

Earth Aid is funded by group of angel investors who have backed, built, and/or scaled some of the most successful businesses today, including The Men’s Warehouse and Rue La La. Our first-generation platform has already garnered several awards and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, USA Today, TechCrunch, and many others.

Work with our Chief Product Officer/Co-Founder and our rockstar Software Engineers to lead design and implementation of the next generation of Earth Aid
Focus on creating innovative UI/UX experiences and on building gorgeous visual designs and high-quality branding - an appreciation for the emotional effects caused by colors, subtle interactions and animations.
Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
Identify and address performance bottlenecks
Drive design and code reviews
Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
2+ years of experience building web applications
Passion for elegant and intuitive user interfaces
Extremely detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation in all browsers
Expert knowledge of web technologies (XHTML/CSS/JS, jQuery,HTML 5)
Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for UI components
2+ years of experience building web applications
Experience building complicated workflows
Demonstrate leadership qualities that make us want to clone you and build our team going forward
