Betterfly.com is an NYC-based startup funded by Lightbank, the VC fund started by the founders of Groupon. Betterfly connects individuals who want to get better at something with tutors, coaches, stylist, personal trainers and other "Betterists" who can help. At the same time, Betterfly helps those Betterists get new clients and empowers them to create online identities so they can brand and market themselves. In less than one year since its launch, Betterfly.com has grown to become the leading online community of personal trainers, hair stylists, and music teachers, and one of the top three communities of yoga instructors, Pilates instructors, and crafts teachers. As one of the hottest startups in the NY tech scene, it presented at the NY Teach meetup, was featured by Mashable in its "Spark of Genius" series, was called "One of the Best Job Sites on the Web" by Mainstreet.com."

Although Betterfly's focus is its website, many of the aspects of its business and focus resemble that of a cutting edge media company. The Betterfly offices are in the heart of Manhattan and its team is full of smart people who truly believe they're up to the next big thing.

We’re seeking a Lead Designer (who will also help us work on product development) who will work directly with the rest of the team to take Betterfly to the next level. Visual design is not enough. We need someone who understands interactive design, information architecture and has a keen sense of UI and UX.
