Lead developer & CTO at real estate startup

Overview
RexNest is an early stage real estate start-up recently founded by two experienced industry veterans. We intend to disrupt the real estate space with an exciting, innovative and readily scalable web-based platform. Our concept has been established and refined over the last nine months – such that we currently have a patent pending with the USPTO – and is now ready for implementation. We are looking for a third co-founder to lead the design and programming of the site. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, experienced programmer capable of leading the development, testing, and launch of the site from start to finish. The two founders are currently based in San Francisco and Los Angeles; our preference would be to find someone in either of these two areas, though we are flexible in our search for the best possible partner. The selected candidate will receive a sizeable equity stake in the company and will serve as the company’s CTO and lead developer.
Responsibilities
Define the technical development strategy
Design and build the database and application architecture
Develop the initial front-end and back-end for both our consumer and client side services/features
Rapid-iteration and experimentation, as we’re looking to Beta within 4-6 months (ahead of peak selling season next spring)
Maintain our web platform and continuously seek ways to improve our platform services
Communicate with team members on a regular basis
Assist in technical hiring decisions for your team as the company grows
Experience
Comfortable in multiple languages, frameworks, and environments
Ideally at least 3-5 years of prior web development (front-end and back-end skills desired)
Proven track record (demonstrated portfolio work a plus)
Prior startup experience a plus, though not required
Experience scaling a site for rapid growth in user traffic
Experience in design and technical implementation of database-driven websites or applications
Skills
Creative, determined, and passionate about your work
Self-starter, yet also a team player
Critical thinker – feel comfortable providing alternative ideas and constructive criticism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Very organized and detail oriented
Strong analysis, design, development and leadership skills
Strong knowledge of database creation, SQL, PHP, HTML and JavaScript
Experience with cross-platform and cross-browser testing
Ability to manage numerous projects at once and deliver upon deadlines
Graphic design skills a plus, though not required
Strong technical writing skills and proposal development skills are also a plus
Education
Preferably at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a top school, or alternatively several years of proven experience
Compensation
Significant equity – you will be the third, and ideally the final, founder among our team
