Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Install, configure and administer Linux servers
Troubleshoot server and performance problems
Support other employees - editors, customer service, etc. - in use of publishing and other applications running on the servers
Identify opportunities for introduction of new technology to help the company operate more efficiently or save money.
Some off-hours support carrying a rotation pager
Grid management.
Responsibilities include; Installing OS on server, setup firewall, engage with hosting facility and manage configurations.
Experience
Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience administering Linux systems
Advanced knowledge of Linux operating system environments specifically
and open-source software in general (mySQL, Perl, PHP, mod_perl)
Familiarity with Intel-based server hardware
Familiarity with network and system security tools
Experience with SAN technology is a plus
Good problem-solving abilities
BA or BS degree in computer science or related field is strongly preferred.
Experience in installing software and hardware is required.
Prior experience working at a start-up rapid-growth companies
Aggressive, motivated, results oriented, self-starter is a must
Ability to size up complex situations quickly and in a calm, professional manner.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Effective presentation skills.
Expert in MS Office and other standard sales tools.
