Overview
We are looking for a stellar MySQL DBA
Responsibilities
Solid knowledge of physical and logical database design
Solid knowledge in schema design principals with demonstrated aptitude to apply best practices for scalable designs and influence developers.
Experience administering database systems ( backup, monitoring, security, installation ) in a many instance environment
Proficiency in a scripting language ( preferably perl )
Experience designing scalable and Highly Available database Systems
Ability to work with the Engineering/Development and Operations team.
Identify and recommend tools and services for managing the database infrastructure.
Hardware sizing requirements for database loads based on efficient use of multi-core systems.
Experience updating MySQL instances in a high volume environment.
Experience tuning MySQL instances with virally increasing amounts of data.
Experience
4+ years experience with relational database systems.
2+ years of hands on experience as a MySQL DBA.
MySQL 5.x (InnoDB and MyISAM engines).
The ideal candidate will have experience with: Linux (Centos/Fedora/RedHat) with emphasis on network and I/O performance tuning. LVM(Logical Volume Management) and snapshots, Perl, Nagios, Cacti, Subversion, MySQL replication (Master-Master, Master-Slave, cluster replication preferred).
Must have the ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced environment.
