Overview
Open Air Publishing is looking for a intern to help with marketing, social media, and PR. Join us and learn how to create a slam-dunk campaign, engage reporters and bloggers, and launch apps to the top of the charts.
We’re a VC-backed start-up team of business, tech, and creative types who believe compelling content can be more than just words on a page. We produce original, how-to e-books designed exclusively for touchscreen devices like the iPad and iPhone. Our books allow readers to master new skills through touch, sight, and sound. Oh, and we like snacks and start work at 10 AM.
We’re looking to hire a marketing intern for the Fall Semester, with the hope that you’ll come on full-time after graduation. You’ll work directly with the CEO and VP Marketing to support the marketing and PR efforts for Open Air’s catalog of titles.

Responsibilities
Find and execute advertising on affiliate marketing channels, social media sites, app review sites and elsewhere. You’ll have the freedom to be creative in your approach to supporting our marketing and sales goals.
Build media contact lists and draft outreach for press and creative talent
Support the execution of product launch events (i.e., wine parties)
Perform competitive analysis and make recommendations to our team
Help create buzz and traction for our new releases and catalog on social media
Support producers on video and photo shoots
Experience
Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment
Skills
Excellent writing and editing skills
Organized and able to juggle multiple tasks at once, attentive to detail, and process-oriented
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to improvise
Affinity for Google Docs
Education
In process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree
Compensation
The position is unpaid but we pay for lunch and offer lots of free snacks.
You must be able to receive course credit for the internship.
You must be able to work on site at our SoHo office for a minimum of days per week. We can accommodate flexible hours.
