Marketing Specialist

Overview
Personal finance web startup seeking a Marketing Specialist to help ramp up marketing efforts, generate more traffic, increase subscriptions, and help take the company to the next level.

I am looking for a creative person with great people, communication, and marketing skills to help grow the company and themselves along with it. I need a self-starter, who is enthusiastic about taking on responsibility and making a difference.

Most of the work would be done remotely, with regular meetings scheduled to discuss campaigns, progress, obstacles, and strategy.

This position can be full time or part time. If you currently have a full time job or go to grad school, but are willing to put in the required effort after hours, that would be fine.

I would prefer to hire someone that lives in, or around, Washington, DC. However, talented applicants from other locations within the United States or Canada will also receive consideration.

Responsibilities
Work with Founder to define and execute marketing strategy that aligns with overall company strategy
Drive increase in qualified traffic to the Finavigation website
Suggest site changes (content, layout, etc.) to improve conversion rates
Create, execute, and manage social media strategy - Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Create, execute, and manage blog strategy - content, interaction, format, layout, etc.
Create, execute, and manage brand strategy
Create, execute, and manage email marketing strategy
Help put together reporting to determine effectiveness of marketing channels
Assist in developing industry relationships - target, help establish, track, and help manage relationships
Other marketing-related duties as required
Skills

Ability to think both strategically and tactically
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to execute on a limited budget
Education
Degree in marketing or communications-related field. Advanced degree, or progress toward an advanced degree, preferred.
Compensation
Compensation would be a percentage of the increase in revenue this person is able to generate for the company. The percentage is negotiable. Other compensation options may be examined and discussed in the future, if desired.
