Overview
We are looking for a very gifted, motivated, experienced and pragmatic innovator to join our team to help OpenX deliver more value to our publishers by finding ways to drive full and fair value for advertising inventory online.

We are looking a very gifted, motivated, experienced and pragmatic innovator to join our team to help OpenX deliver more value to our publishers by finding ways to drive full and fair value for advertising inventory online.
This person will lead our efforts to develop and deploy world-class market structures and supporting technologies that will help create more economic value in the online advertising space
OpenX is at an early stage in its evolution so the potential for experiential, operational and economic upside is very significant for the right person.
Skills
A strong desire to help transform the online advertising market for the benefit of publishers, advertisers and users
Practical, applied experience with classic market structuring issues, for e.g.: expressiveness, bidding languages, pricing & auction models, transactions costs minimization etc
Experience deploying marketplace designs at scale and learning/iterating
An appreciation for the sociology and psychology of marketplace dynamics and participation
Experience in the online advertising space, ideally in the marketplace design space. Good commercial understanding of the ad industry landscape/trends and implications for marketplace design.
An understanding of how to simplify participation models for users in order to render great underlying complexity more readily accessible
The ability to easily transition between complex, conceptual design topics and very operational execution issues (and back again)
Excellent teamwork and communications skills
A very global orientation, ideally with prior international experience
A real passion to work in an hard-charging start-up environment with some ambiguity and few rules or processes
Rigorous academic training in economics. Additional training in computer science engineering is also highly desirable. BS minimum, advanced degree highly desirable
