We are in search of Software Engineers for the Data Management Technology Group of the Hortonworks Data Platform who are enthusiastic about taking Apache Hive and Pig to the next level of functionality, stability, and enterprise readiness. Our Engineers contribute to the Hadoop open source community and are very passionate about building quality into software from the earliest stages of the development lifecycle until final delivery of a commercial-quality product.

Responsibilities
Developer for Pig-Hive to support porting to Windows.
Experience
Candidate should have experience with development of data management software. Technical experience in database internals, complex event processing, NoSql, and/or ETL necessary.
Experience using Windows application
Experience with system software design and development with strong understanding of distributed & large scale systems
Ability to interact with customers in pre-sales, planning, joint development, and support situations.
Ability to coordinate across teams, including with QA, Doc writers, support, sales, etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience as Open Source contributor desirable
Education
BSCS, MSCS is preferred.
