LearnVest is looking for a sharp mobile developer to join its growing technical team in New York City.

LOCATION

Responsibilities
Play a key role in the design and development of LearnVest’s mobile application platform
Participate in the overall maintenance of the application, including bug fixes, performance enhancements and runtime production support.
Work with server-side engineers to define service APIs to support the mobile applications
Write clean, well-documented and unit-tested code.
As needed, generate technical documentation for various aspects of the application.
Work with front-end (UI) developers to integrate server-side code with UI artifacts.
Experience
At least 1-2 years of experience writing consumer-facing native mobile applications for iOS, Android or
both platforms.
At least 4-5 years experience in general programming in a C-based language (C, C++, Objective-C,
Java), and strong knowledge of basic programming concepts. • Strong familiarity with client server concepts Strong familiarity with web programming technologies, like (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery and
XML.
Strong experience in managing the constraints in mobile applications - optimizing speed and efficiency
with storage, memory usage, power management, battery usage, etc.
Demonstrated ability to convert design and specification artifacts into mobile application architectures
Experience in, and eagerness for, working in the rapid-fire environment of a young, dynamic startup.

Excellent communication skills, ability to convey ideas and suggestions across multiple parties in the company
Passion for building high-quality web applications.
Self-starter, with ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High energy and a positive attitude in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Compensation
Is competitive with industry standards and will be based on candidate’s specific experience.
